World Famous in Poland

In the late 1980s, award-winning filmmaker Evan Mather (“Scenic Highway”, “A Necessary Ruin”, “39-A: Een Reisverhaal Van Eindeloos”) began shooting a shot-for-shot remake of Woody Allen’s “Hannah and Her Sisters” using his original Kenner Star Wars action figures. In this autobiographical essay film, Mather recounts the formulation, production and eventual abandonment of his attempt at “Hannah and Her Midichlorians”. “World Famous In Poland” is not only a meditation on the filmmaking process itself, but also a celebration of childhood dreams and analog cinema in which we experience Mather’s familial conflict and eventual descent into self-delusional madness.
